Conditions of Use

Revised October 15, 2026

These Conditions of Use ("Conditions") govern your use of https://thefoodreceipt.com (the "Site"), operated by The Food Receipt. By using the Site you accept these Conditions. Please don't use the Site if you don't accept them.

1. About the Site

The Site provides free heirloom-style recipes, cooking guides, a vintage measure translator and free holiday plans on request. We don't sell baked goods, catering, classes or subscriptions, and we may change or discontinue any feature at any time.

2. Holiday plans

Holiday plans are free, general suggestions based on your answers and our published recipes. They aren't dietary, medical or nutrition advice and may not suit every individual's needs. We aim to respond within the time shown on the request page but can't guarantee it. You must be at least 18 and give accurate information to request a plan.

3. Measure translator

The translator provides approximate modern equivalents for historical measurements, which varied from household to household. Results are estimates, and you're responsible for judging quantities and doneness.

4. Proper use

Don't misuse the Site — for example, don't send false or automated requests, try to access protected areas, disrupt the Site, or copy its content in bulk.

5. Intellectual property

All recipes, articles, illustrations, tools, design elements and branding on the Site belong to The Food Receipt or its licensors and are protected by US and international law. You're welcome to read, print and keep content for personal, non-commercial use and to share links to it. Any other reuse requires our written permission.

6. Ads and outside links

The Site may contain advertising and links to other websites. We're not responsible for third-party content, products or services.

7. Warranty disclaimer

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. See also our Disclaimer.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, THE FOOD RECEIPT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY ILLNESS, INJURY OR LOSS CONNECTED WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE, INCLUDING PREPARING, SERVING OR EATING FOOD. Because some states don't allow certain limitations, some of these may not apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to hold The Food Receipt harmless from claims that arise from your breach of these Conditions or misuse of the Site.

10. Governing law

These Conditions are governed by the laws of the US state in which The Food Receipt is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless the law of your own state requires otherwise.

11. Revisions

We may revise these Conditions. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use of the Site after a revision means you accept it.
